Stainless steel

The vast majority of our jewelry is made of surgical stainless steel, also known as 316L. The production of 316L complies with EU environmental protection laws and regulations. The material can be recycled and minimal waste is produced during the production process.

Steel is an alloy of iron, chromium and carbon, as well as a lower proportion of elements such as nickel and molybdenum. Nickel is added to give the jewelery the shiny surface and is so tightly bound in the material that they are nickel safe according to the EU nickel directive REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. Steel is a durable material that rarely discolors and is significantly more resistant to scratches than jewelry in sterling silver, brass and gold. The producers we work with use steel that comes from China.

Gold plating

There are several different types of gold plating and the one we use is real 18k gold or rose gold.

Sterling silver

Our silver jewelry consists of sterling silver and is marked with 925, which means that the jewelry contains 92.5% silver, the rest consists of copper. All silver jewelry is rhodium-plated, which gives a beautiful surface and reduces the risk of the jewelry oxidizing and darkening.

Sterling silver is a softer material than stainless steel, which gives us other design possibilities. This also means that silver jewelry can get small scratches or scuff marks, which happens naturally through use.

Leather

Leather is a material made from animal skins, usually from cattle, sheep, or pigs. The process of making leather is called tanning, where the skin is treated to preserve it and prevent degradation. Leather is used in a variety of products, including clothing, shoes, bags, furniture and car interiors, due to its durability and aesthetic qualities. Leather is a living material that changes character and becomes softer over time.
